Bullingdon Club members Cameron and Johnson.
At a time of enormous suffering throughout our society today at PMQs our Prime Minister decided to showboat his way through, in true Bullingdon Boy style, accusing the Leader of Her Majesties Opposition of, “wobbling and tergiversation”. Having demonstrated his extraordinarily clever command of the english language he also tried to introduce a crass touch of humour, to what surely should have been a more solemn occasion, when in response to a question from Starmer asking why he had not replied to a letter seeking a cross-party task force on the return of schools he replied that he had been “in contact with the right honourable gentleman via a modern device called the telephone”. Starmer, restricted by the arcane rules of the house from calling him a liar, responded that no such conversation had taken place on the subject.
Later we were to be treated to an analogy, that could only have been clutched from the playing fields of Eton. In response to a question, from an M.P. on his own side of the house, about how the government was going to deal with serious localised outbreaks of the infection he replied that they would identify hotspots of the virus and "do whack-a-mole and stamp out outbreaks".
In my part of the country we refer to this as, “splat the rat” Boris. Nuff said.
