The Anti Semite Mudslinging Caucus.

Urged on by Benjamin Netanyahu this caucus of anti Muslim racists are becoming a pestilential scourge in the UK urged on by a complacent media, some of whom themselves have a track record in this area. It is quite clear that their aim is to destroy Jeremy Corbyn for his consistent support for the Palestinians.

The following is an extract from an article in Counterpunch by Andrew Levine  who himself is Jewish.

“Rebutting the claim that anti-Zionism is a form of anti-Semitism is a tedious and frustrating endeavour – in part because those who think otherwise are willfully obtuse and determined never to change their minds. Engaging with them, even briefly, has given me a newfound respect for those who centuries ago took up the cause of convincing Europeans that, no matter how far they might go, they would not fall off the edge of the earth. It has also made me envious of Sisyphus. He had a similarly impossible task to perform, but at least he got good exercise and worked outdoors.

Zionists in the UK have been more successful lately at giving Jeremy Corbyn, the Leader of the Labour Party, a hard time.
Inasmuch as Corbyn really is a socialist and also an anti-imperialist – and anti-anti-Semite – with an outstanding record going back many years, the opposition to him from the UK bourgeoisie is extreme.
The role UK Zionists have been playing in their smear campaign has been nearly as appalling as the role played by the Tory journalists NPR enlists to keep Americans misinformed and on program about the “institutional anti-Semitism” (whatever that is) in Corbyn’s party.
Not being Jewish, he could hardly be labeled a self-hating Jew; even ace conman Trump couldn’t pull that off. And because his record is so clear, he could hardly be labeled an anti-Semite either.
His opponents therefore had to settle with the claim that he is soft on anti-Semitism, a charge they support first by confounding anti-Zionism with anti-Semitism, and then by pursuing a strategy of guilt by association.
To hear them tell it or intimate it, everyone to their left, by which they mean not only everyone whose domestic policies would, if enacted, cause the British bourgeoisie to go ballistic, but also everyone who thinks and acts in solidarity with oppressed peoples, suffers from the same problem. This puts them at odds with the Zionist project and in league with genuine internationalists everywhere.
Is this the kind of invective that Corbyn or Sanders or anyone else who, however mildly, sticks up for justice for Palestinians can expect to encounter?
It is hard to believe, inasmuch as it started from a higher plateau, but in this respect the post-Blair Labor Party is even worse than the post-Clinton Democratic mainstream."

Another person whom seems to share this view is George Gallagher. Say what you want about him but he is a superb showman, even when talking into a phone on a blasted heath somewhere in Scotland.

The 'French Bill Gates': Giving has to bring you joy, nothing else

Tech entrepreneur Alexandre Mars wants to reshape how we think of donating to charity.
Dubbed the "French Bill Gates," Mars made his fortune creating and selling start-ups to the likes of multinationals Publicis and Blackberry.
Today, Mars is the founder and CEO of global charity Epic Foundation. The charity brings leading investors and corporations together with selected youth and children's charities.
Talking to CNBC in an episode of Life Hacks Live, Mars said that although big-name billionaires like Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates are pledging their fortunes to charity, no amount is too small.
"We [at Epic] want to make giving the norm because we don't want just the Gates and the Zuckerbergs of the world doing all the work," said Mars.
"Don't think that you have to become Gates to start this. Don't think that if you are not working at the UN, you cannot be someone who will have an impact on the world. It's easy."
The philanthropist said that the amount you give to charity must depend on what you can afford to give. "Try to define your level of pain regarding giving — when you're 27, it's different than when you're 35," Mars said. "If it starts hurting you, it's no longer joyful. Giving has to bring you joy, nothing else."
Mars founded Epic Foundation in 2014, but his philanthropic passions started much earlier.
"My mom was always helping people, so I grew up within that kind of spirit, and that's why very quickly I said to myself, 'How can I help other people?'" he said.

Good riddance to the carpetbaggers from a bygone age.

To these killers who voted for the indiscriminate bombing of hundreds of thousands of Muslims but complain unfairly about anti Semitic behaviour by a man who has fought prejudice all his life and the holier than though Tom Watson I wave you goodbye with joy in my heart.
Stand for re-election if you dare, you people of principle.
For the definition of a hypocrite and carpetbagger read Ms Berger’s Wiki entry.

The Afghan Tragedy

The following is the epilogue to a long  essay in Counterpunch  by a former senior US diplomat on  the invasion of Afghanistan and it’s appalling consequences. Blair sanctioned the invasion in 2003, without a parliamentary vote, but in 2010 MPs were asked to vote on troops remaining there. This  was passed by a huge majority, with a few principaled Tory and Labour MPs voting against or abstaining.
Blood, flesh, bone, sinew, organs…ground up and thrown, as if by some spectral ghastly hand and shovel, into a furnace of oblivion and nothingness. EB Sledge, a US Marine who fought in the 20thCentury’s Good War, wrote about his experiences as an infantryman amidst all the killing and dying. In With the Old Breed, over and over again, haunted by the dead and the loss of their futures, Sledge summarizes what he saw with the words: what a waste.

The BBC, Positive Discrimination, Political Correctness and Quotas.

Ever since The Labour Party insisted on women only shortlists I have been a fierce opponent of this nonsense.  (Luciana Berger is a typical instance who, although a known trouble maker, was parachuted into Liverpool, and has been a devisive critic of the Party ever since, and even Channel 4 have accused her of being a carpetbagger). Positions should be filled on the basis of the best person for the job and not their sex, gender orientation or colour.
On Sunday night on BBC Four two well established programme were ruined by useless and patronising, polically correct presenters, who had me switching channels until nine o’clock when a guy
who had empathy and knowledge of his subject presented a superb, informative and insightful programme about gypsies in this country and the discriminatory and shabby racist treatment meted out to them.
As if this is bad enough why do we have to have a passably reasonable newsreader in Fiona Bruce, shoed into presenting high profile programmes such as Antiques Roadshow (Arthur Negus where are you now?)
and ruining Question Time where, unsurprisingly the ratings have tumbled.  Are the BBC so bereft of qualified presenters that Bruce has to be shoved into every high profile programme?
Radio 5 Live is teeming with first class presenters, who whatever they may lack in telegenics, make up for in personality and expertise.

The Women of the UK Will Build The Better World.

In my peregrinations around the country and discussions with many diverse groups from Perth in the north
to Truro
in the South and from Bangor
in the west to Lincoln in the east I am  now utterly convinced that women will carry us through to the new Britain.
A New Briton where poverty is vanquished and swords are turned into ploughshares.
The men are flabby lounge lizards, stuffing burgers and cheap booze down themselves ,whilst it is the women who are or organising and manning the soup kitchens and food banks and sheltering the refugees from war torn countries.. They are strong and committed and caring and increasingly linking arms together as sisters in the struggle.
This is dedication to the night porter at the Mayfield House Hotel in Malmesbury.

Cuba Update 4 February 2019
Donate to the Havana Tornado Appeal

Donate to the Havana Tornado Appeal

The British Cuba Solidarity Campaign has donated £2,000 to the relief appeal following the shock tornado which ripped through five municipalities on 27 January.
Six people were killed and 195 injured in the worst storm to hit the Cuban capital for 80 years. Damage to homes and infrastructure was considerable, with total and partial collapse of buildings, and winds tearing up and overturning trees, vehicles and electricity cables.
Work is already underway to repair property including damaged schools, hospitals, utilities and public buildings, and re-establish services.
If you would like to donate to relief efforts, CSC has launched an appeal to collect donations. We will make regular bulk transfers to Cuba to avoid international banking fees on individual's transactions and difficulties people may have with personal bank transfers due the US blockade.
100% of donations will be passed on to relief work being coordinated by government agencies and ministries in Cuba.
Other donations
By cheque: Cheques should be clearly marked on the back: ‘Havana Tornado Relief'. Please make cheques out to CSC and send to: Cuba Solidarity Campaign c/o UNITE, 33-37 Moreland Street, London EC1V 8BB, UK
By card or phone: For credit card or bank transfers call +44 (0)20 7490 5715 or email office@cuba-solidarity.org.uk
If you prefer to donate directly to the appeal account set up by the Cuban government, you can do so via the Banco Financiero Internacional (BFI), account number 0300000005093523. Donations via this account may incur international transfer charges.
CSC reiterates its solidarity with the Cuban people in the mammoth task they have ahead to rebuild their communities. We call once again for the US government to end its inhumane blockade of the country so that the Cuban people can access the building materials and equipment they will need to reconstruct Havana following this tragedy.

UK government highlights ban on British companies complying with blockade

UK government highlights ban on British companies complying with blockade

Sir Alan Duncan MP, Minister of State for Europe and the Americas, has again made clear the British Government’s opposition to United States extraterritorial blockade policies against Cuba.
On 22 January, in response to a parliamentary question from David Davies MP, Mr Duncan reaffirmed that it was “illegal”under the UK Protection of Trading Interests Act 1980 for British companies to “comply with extraterritorial legislation such as the US embargo”.
The Ministry of International Trade also responded similarly to a question from Karen Lee MP, chair of the All Party Group on Cuba over what plans the government had to support British companies if the US decided to lift the suspension of Title III of the Helms-Burton legislation.

The aggression against Venezuela must stop

The aggression against Venezuela must stop

The Cuban government had released a statement condemning “the attempt to impose through a coup a puppet government in the service of the United States” in Venezuela and expressed its “unwavering solidarity” Nicolás Maduro’s government.
“The true objectives of the actions against Venezuela are to control the vast resources of that sister nation” said the statement in reference to the South American nations vast oil reserves. Cuba also condemned the shameful role of the Organisation of American States to implement a policy of “regime change, which has not been imposed due to the unwavering resistance of the Venezuelan people and their willingness to defend the National sovereignty.”

Sadness at the loss of Jeremy Hardy, supporter of Cuba and wonderful person and campaigner

CSC was deeply saddened by the death of our good friend Jeremy Hardy. He was a wonderful person, a man of solidarity and action, and a great supporter of Cuba.
Jeremy performed at a number of benefit concerts for the Cuba Solidarity Campaign and took part in campaign actions against the blockade and in support of the campaign for freedom for the Miami Five.
Our thoughts and love are with his family and friends at this sad time.

The Forgotten Holocaust of 1915.

When HOLOCAUST. DAY. comes around how many in the west remember the systematic extinction of  1.5  million Armenians by the OTTOMAN EMPIRE in 1915?  I hazard that there are very few and that in our schools the subject is neglected. Their students should know that the term, "holocaust"
was first used by a historian to describe the terrible tragedy that happened to the Armenians

The starting date is conventionally held to be 24 April 1915, the day that Ottoman authorities rounded up, arrested, and deported from Constantinople (now Istanbul) to the region of Ankara 235 to 270 Armenian intellectuals and community leaders, the majority of whom were eventually murdered. The genocide was carried out during and after World War I and implemented in two phases—the wholesale killing of the able-bodied male population through massacre and subjection of army conscripts to forced labour, followed by the deportation of women, children, the elderly, and the infirm on death marches leading to the Syrian Desert. Driven forward by military escorts, the deportees were deprived of food and water and subjected to periodic robbery, rape, and massacre.[Other ethnic groups were similarly targeted for extermination in the Assyrian genocide and the Greek genocide, and their treatment is considered by some historians to be part of the same genocidal policy. Most Armenian diaspora communities around the world came into being as a direct result of the genocide

Vladimir Putin is a regular attendee at the annual memorial service as are other world signatories. The USA and EU leaders attend but the British are disgustingly notable by their absence.

Shame on the hypocrites who shout “anti semitic” at anybody who does not toe the lines and the Jewish MPs who attack Jeremy Corby are a politically motivated rabble.
